I have purchased three 22” basketballs to work on my juggling tricks. The smaller ball size is easier to palm and perform more difficult tricks. I am working on behind the back throws while riding the unicycle. Wish me good luck!
Remember the underhand shot from back in the day?
Ya, me neither.
But while juggling three balls I need to shoot three consecutive one-handed underhand shots. People at the gym probably think I look kind of weird practicing one-handed underhand scoop shots from the side of the key. These shots are coming along while standing and idling on the unicycle.
Having improved on my standing three ball dribble I have begun to implement that on the unicycle. One and two ball dribbling on the unicycle is pretty simple, but the wheel seems to get in the way when you add the third ball (plus there’s that whole balance issue to deal with).
I am getting it down while riding forward. Three ball dribbling is proving to be a little tricky while idling. What to do about the wheel that always seems to get in the way? As my mom says: practice, practice, practice (I only repeated that three times because I am working with three balls and they each need practice).
After practicing at the gym I realize that my unicycle shooting skills are lacking and maybe closer to non existent. I needed to make a more accessible practice area. Check it out:
Now I can get some practice in any time of the day or night! Plus it really makes the tree look nice.
I've been at the gym practicing unicycle shooting drills. I idle near the edge of the key and begin juggling three basketballs. If I can keep my balance long enough I will shoot the three balls consecutively within the juggling pattern. Three underhand shoots, off glass, nothing but net. At least that is the vision in my head. It will take more work to get there. Like I've always been taught, practice makes perfect.
